| There was a time that a Cajun wedding was one of the only social functions
where one could meet a potential spouse. Ask Grandma where she met Grandpa,
and she'll probably say at some cousin's wedding. My own grandmother and
her sisters married men who were all first cousins. That must have been some
family gatherings! Families were close and weddings were a very important
family event. An "adult only" wedding was unheard of.
