This is the fire wood used to fuel the "pig roasting
oven". It is wooden pallets picked up from various
sources. It is parked next to the oven, by the door where the the pallets are thrown in when the fire needs
renewing.
The weekend we went to have lunch with them, they were camping
just outside Lake Charles at a campground in the country, off the
beaten track. There were 42 rigs for this camp out.
They were from Texas and Louisiana. The day was brisk and
cold, the sun shone bright, and everyone's appetites were at fever
pitch after smelling the roasting pig for hours on end.

If you haven't already guessed, this is the PIG roasting
away the day! This process takes many hours to
accomplish. It is a slow process. The cage the pig is
in rotates, the fire is in back of the oven and is EXTREMELY
HOT! Makes my mouth water just thinking about the succulent
meat that comes from the roasting pig.
