This is not the first cochon de lait I've been to, but it is the most unique one I've ever been to.  Sidney and Louis are two of the finest men you'll ever want to meet.  They are true Cajuns, work hard, play hard, give it all you've got and then give a little more.  Sidney and Louis are fun loving, willing to share whatever they have, (especially recipes) and bring a new meaning to helping others.


I am pleased to introduce you to Sidney and Louis Landry, "Cochon de Lait Roasters
Extraordinaire".  They have been bringing this little piece of heaven to many for many years.  If you have never tasted a whole roasted suckling pig, you are in for the taste sensation of your life when you do.

Sidney, Louis and their wives Gerry and JoAnn belong to a camping club "Bon Ami Camping Club" (Good Friend).  They camp all over Louisiana and other states, wherever the wind blows them.  At some of the camp sites they bring the "pig roaster wagon" and have a cochon de lait to raise funds for their favorite charities; St. Judes, Covenant House in New Orleans and Children's Miracle Net Work just to name a few.  They prepare a whole meal and sell "plate lunches" with the proceeds going to one of the charities.


This is the roasting oven on wheels.  Look to the right of the picture at the oven and see the discoloration, that is caused from the intense heat.
