I take for granted that everyone can cook rice, but my husband pointed out, that is not necessarily so. He can't! I basically cook white long grain rice all the time. I use either Toro or Mahatma Rice, which or both long grain rice. I now use a microwave rice pot and love it, but I'll give you the stove top recipe.
4 c. Water
2 c. Rice
2 tsp. Salt
1 T. Oil
Boil water, add rice, salt and oil to boiling water, reduce heat to a medium-low fire, put the lid on the pot and cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then serve. |
