Melva
When Virginia gave me the recipe for meatloaf, I
immediately thought of my cousin Melva's recipe for Green Rice.
I've eaten a great variety of broccoli rice, but none as good as
hers. I like the texture and flavor hers has. And, if you don't
feel like cooking a vegetable side dish, this one has the veggie
in it.
1/2 c. Onion (chopped)
1/2 c. celery (chopped)
1/2 stick oleo (margarine)
1 pkg. Chopped Frozen Broccoli
2 c. Cooked Rice
1 sm. Jar Cheese Whiz
Season to Taste (I like Tony Chachere's Seasoning)
1/2 c. Cheese (grated)
Sauté the onions and celery in the oleo. Cook the broccoli
according to box directions (don't over cook).
Mix all ingredients together EXCEPT grated cheese and put in a
greased 2 quart baking pan. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes |
