Chocolate Dream Cake

Bea & Judy

Here's my two "buds" again with a dream of a cake. Does it show that we love chocolate? You will find more than a fair share of chocolate recipes, it is the rewarding food of my generation, any generation I guess.

2 c. Flour
2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1tsp. Soda
1/2 c. Margarine
1/2 c. Shortening
1 c. Water
1/4 c. Cocoa
1/2 c. Buttermilk
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Eggs (slightly beaten)
Frosting

Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, and soda together and set aside.

Bring margarine, shortening, water and cocoa to a rapid boil, then pour over flour mixture and mix well. Combine all other ingredients EXCEPT Frosting and add all at once to batter and mix well.

Use a 13"x9"x2" baking pan and bake at 400° for 35 to 45 minutes. Spread frosting on cake immediately after it comes out of oven.

DREAM FROSTING:

3 1/2 T. Cocoa
1/3 c. Milk
1 lb. Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
2/3 c. Pecans (chopped)
